When an organization has an opening to fill, they can choose to fill it with a current employee or they can have someone who would be new to the company have a chance to be hired. Human Resources will need to take action and create a personnel requisition form which describes the reason for the need to hire a new person and the requirements of the job” (Rue, Ibrahim & Byars, 2016, p. 114). Human Resources will list all the important details of the job along with a job description to better clarify the needs of the organization. Rue, Ibrahim & Byars (2016) defines job posting and bidding as an internal method of recruitment in which notices of available jobs are posted in central locations throughout the organization and employees are given a specified length of time to apply for the available jobs (p. 116). The importance of this process for me is the fairness. By having the Human Resources department initially review all applications, it hopefully allows for a fair screening process. When there is a set process to make employees aware of the vacancies and then you follow specific policies it can make for a successful job posting and job bidding.
