Final Policy Brief — Concise 8-10 page double spaced policy brief compendium outlining the following areas below. Students should include clear citations of course materials and external research. Your compendium should compliment your policy podcast by providing greater depth/breadth of the topic.
A research compendium provides enrichment and details that may be hard to develop in the podcast. The paper should be in narrative form, but with clear sections (headers and sub headers).
Consider:
I. Background and significance of the topic
II. Review of the research/history on the social policy
III. Policy analysis of the success and failures of the implementation of the policy
IV. Recommendations for future practice, programs, and policy.
**Note. As you write your policy brief, consider issues of access, implementation, and costs and benefits (economic and social). Consider the intersection of income, race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, disability, and age. Consider the proactive and reactive nature of policy, and the way ecological theory and the prevention science paradigms inform policy implementation.
